What You're Getting For Christmas

Okay, so I was skeptical when I ran across a recipe for a banana preserve. Because, banana preserve, who's ever heard of that ever? But I have like fifty thousand frozen bananas, so I figured why not:

So, um, I don't know why this isn't a thing. This stuff tastes exactly like banana bread. Spread it on toast? Banana bread. Spread it on some biscuits, banana bread biscuits. Spoon it on ice cream? Banana bread ice cream. I'm in love. And you will be too if you're lucky enough to get a jar for Christmas this year.

I modified the recipe a little. Instead of using store-bought pumpkin pie spice, I used my family's spice blend for pumpkin pie. And I subbed half of the sugar with brown sugar, which I think added to some of the richness. I think next time, though I would do a cup of dark brown sugar instead of three cups light because the texture was a bit off. But seriously. Spread it on steak? Banana bread steak.

I loved this idea. Spread it on popcorn? Banana bread popcorn. On pickles? Banana bread pickles. Brilliant. Your post was hilarious!
