Goodbye, 2011! And Good Riddance!

Guys, 2011 was not my favorite year of all time. Don't get me wrong, there were good times, like when I went to El Valle de San Anton, and Girls Camp, and of course, that trip to Yellowstone National Park in June. There was also the Spinster Cousin Cruise, a couple of other trips to Panama, some time in Virginia in the fall. Seriously, this year was jam packed with trips and activities.

But on a really personal level, this year was a roller coaster, between all the fun trips and good times there were a lot of hard days. A lot. The good news is that nearly all of the tough quandries have been resolved and I don't think there is any need for 2011 to leak into 2012. Thank goodness!

In fact, 2012 promises to be pretty incredible, so I'm looking forward to it. I've been thinking a lot about what I would want my goals for the year to be, and decided that I wanted to approach the year a little differently than I have in the past. Instead of setting activity goals, I want to set some character goals, some Make Jules a Better Person goals. So as I've pondered this, I've come up with two kind of theme-y statements for 2012, the first is "Cleanse and Sanctify" and the seconds is "Be Possessed of Charity."

I know how the goals things works, so I do have some concrete parts of those theme statements. Each month I plan to have a diet and exercise plan to follow, a Scripture Study program/topic, and at least one compassionate service project. You'll likely being seeing me write about all of those things over the next year.

So bring on 2012! It's going to be good...

Ooh! Great themes and great goals! Sorry 2011 was hard. I had a year like that a few years back. It really has been uphill from there, so let's hope it's the same for you! Happy New Year!
