Starting off the New Year Right

You probably already know this, but I have a huge fan crush on Ken Jennings. Big time. So I read his blog regularly. And occasionally, on that blog, he writes about books he's read and enjoyed. Just recently, as I was finishing up one of the books he recommended (1Q84 mentioned a few days ago and easily my favorite work of fiction that I read last year), and loving it, as I have loved all of the books I picked up on his recommendation, I decided that I needed more Ken Jennings book recommendations and sent him an email requesting a list of his top recently read books.

This is the email that I got today:
Novels I have recently read and liked:
Little, Big by John Crowley
The Children's Book by A. S. Byatt
Falconer by John Cheever
Habibi by Craig Thompson

Nonfiction books I have recently read and liked:
Life by Keith Richards
Packing for Mars by Mary Roach
The Breaks of the Game by David Halberstam
The Ecstasy of Influence by Jonathan Lethem

Let me know how my hit rate holds up.

Best,
Ken
An email from Ken Jennings, with book recommendations? On 1 January? This is clearly a sign that 2012 is going to be the best year ever!

As soon as I finish the giant novel I'm reading now, I will set out on the Ken Jennings reading list. I will keep you and Ken Jennings posted on how it goes.

Ken Jennings!

What's not to love about Ken Jennings?! Seriously - is there a side of him that isn't lovable? I doubt it.
